Trichoadenoma of the eyelid

PURPOE: To report the unique occurrence of a trichoadenoma of the eyelid. METHOD: An 80-year-old woman underwent urgical reection of a leion of the right lower eyelid that wa upected to be a baal cell carcinoma. The leion wa tudied with light microcopy. REULT: Hitopathology howed a leion in the dermi that contained keratin cyt urrounded by a proliferation of eoinophilic epidermoid cell. The finding were characteritic of a trichoadenoma. CONCLUION: Trichoadenoma, a rare, benign, cutaneou tumor that uually occur on the face, can develop on the eyelid and imulate a baal cell carcinoma.
