Abstract
PURPOE: To report ucceful treatment of ocular infection caued by the microporidium Encephalitozoon cuniculi in a peron with acquired immunodeficiency yndrome (AID) and naal and paranaal inu infection.
METHOD: Cae report.
REULT: Microporidial infection in a peron with AID and with chronic inuiti and keratoconjunctiviti wa diagnoed by Weber modified trichrome tain and tranmiion electron microcopy. ymptom completely reolved with itraconazole treatment (200 mg/day for 8 week) after albendazole therapy (400 mg/day for 6 week) wa unucceful.
CONCLUION: Itraconazole can be recommended in ocular, naal, and paranaal inu infection caued by E. cuniculi paraite when treatment with albendazole fail.
