Advere periocular reaction after blood tranfuion

Purpoe: To decribe a patient with an acute conjunctival and periocular reaction after blood tranfuion. Method: Cae report and literature review. Reult: A 67-year-old woman utained a elf-limited periocular reaction characterized by bilateral turgecence and redne of the conjunctiva and eyelid after blood tranfuion. More than 100 imilar reaction of thi type have been reported by the Center for Dieae Control and Prevention. Concluion: The caue of thi periocular tranfuion reaction i unclear, but thi type of reaction i being invetigated by the Center for Dieae Control and Prevention. Thi cae ugget that mild tranfuion complication, even if unuual, may be under-reported.
