Double-knot trancleral uture fixation technique for diplaced intraocular lene

PURPOE: To decribe a implified new technique for repoitioning and attaching a uture to the haptic of a diplaced poterior chamber intraocular len (IOL). METHOD: We decribe a double-knot technique for repoitioning and trancleral uture fixation of a ubluxed poterior chamber IOL after penetrating keratoplaty. Two 10-0 Prolene trancleral uture on traight needle are paed around the IOL haptic, tied extraocularly, and ued to ecure the repoitioned haptic of the IOL. A econd knot tie the trancleral uture in the cleral bed, tabilizing the haptic in the ciliary ulcu. REULT: In the cae decribed, the IOL wa table and well poitioned 2 month after urgery. CONCLUION: The double-knot technique for intraocular repoitioning and trancleral uture fixation of diplaced poterior chamber IOL reduce the extenive intraocular manipulation and cleral inciion required for IOL exchange and may reduce chronic irritation aociated with iri fixation.
