Arteriovenou adventitial heathotomy for the treatment of macular edema aociated with branch retinal vein occluion

PURPOE: To report arteriovenou adventitial heathotomy for treatment of macular edema aociated with branch retinal vein occluion. METHOD: Cae report with review. Five eye of five patient with bet-corrected viual acuity of le than 20/200 econdary to branch retinal vein occluion had par plana vitrectomy and arteriovenou adventitial heathotomy and were followed potoperatively for a mean of 6.5 year (range, 5 to 7 year). REULT: In four of five eye, the bet-corrected viual acuity improved to 20/30 to 20/70. In the remaining eye, viual acuity remained at finger counting econdary to macular ichemia. CONCLUION: Arteriovenou adventitial heathotomy may be beneficial for elect patient with poor viion econdary to branch retinal vein occluion.
