Abstract
PURPOE:
To report a cae of caterpillar etae embedded in the deep cornea and anterior chamber.
METHOD:
A 26-year-old man wa truck in hi right eye by a caterpillar (Dendrolimu punctatu walker). evere conjunctival injection, chemoi, and eroion of the cornea developed immediately. Numerou etae fragment were found to be embedded into the palpebral conjunctiva and deep cornea, extending into the anterior chamber near the anterior iri urface.
REULT:
After partial removal of the etae under a microcope, the inflammation ubided and viual acuity improved to RE: 20/20.
CONCLUION:
Caterpillar etae are harp enough to penetrate the cornea and extend into the anterior chamber.
