Rearrangement of immunoglobulin gene in metatatic waldentröm macroglobulinemia to the vitreou

PURPOE: To report metatatic Waldentröm macroglobulinemia cell with immunoglobulin heavy chain gene rearrangement in the vitreou and the blood. METHOD: A 58-year-old man with Waldentröm macroglobulinemia developed bilateral vitreiti. Diagnotic vitrectomy wa performed on the left eye. The vitreou cell and the peripheral blood lymphocyte were analyzed uing microdiection and polymerae chain reaction amplification. REULT: Vitrectomy pecimen of the left eye contained a few degenerated cell. Molecular analyi howed immunoglobulin heavy chain gene rearrangement at the third complementary determining region of the vitreal infiltrating cell and peripheral blood lymphocyte. CONCLUION: Waldentröm macroglobulinemia rarely metataize to the vitreou. Molecular detection of the immunoglobulin heavy chain gene third complementary determining region rearrangement i helpful in the diagnoi of the malignancy. Microdiection combined with polymerae chain reaction i a ueful and innovative tool for molecular pathological invetigation.
