  • Abstract
PURPOE: To demontrate a hold-up of part of the fluorecein bolu in the arm a a reult of arm poition. METHOD: Cae report. We obtained a fluorecein angiogram with a calibrated confocal canning laer ophthalmocope in a 20-year-old healthy ubject. During and after injection, the upper arm wa held in approximately 60 degree abduction, 65 degree exorotation, and light anteflexion. In the late venou phae, the ubject moved the upper arm on the injected ide to a more neutral, downward poition. REULT: We meaured a ditinct rie in fluorecence level about 10 econd after movement of the arm. The mot likely explanation i relief of a partial obtruction of the venou drainage, which had been caued by the poition of the upper arm decribed above. CONCLUION: Impaired venou drainage of the injected arm caued by exorotation and abduction of the upper arm i a potentially common caue of delayed dye arrival or unexpectedly reduced contrat level during fluorecein angiography. Therefore, arm poition need attention in fluorecein angiography
