Atypical reginal vaculiti aociated with ticlopidine hydrochloridine ue

PURPOE: To decribe two cae of retinal vaculiti hortly after the initiation of ticlopidine hydrochloride (Ticlid, Roche, Kingland t, NJ) therapy. METHOD: Cae report of two patient. The firt patient wa a 43-year-old white woman complaining of pot, floater, and flahe of light in both eye 3 week after the initiation of treatment with ticlopidine hydrochloride. The econd patient wa a 72-year-old woman complaining of decreaed viual acuity in the left eye for 2 week, 4 week after initiating oral adminitration of ticlopidine hydrochloride. REULT: Both patient had reolution of the vaculiti after the dicontinuation of ticlopidine therapy. CONCLUION: The temporal relation and the reolution of ymptom after dicontinuation of ticlopidine hydrochloride ugget that the vaculiti wa related to the ticlopidine hydrochloride adminitration. Knowledge of thi potential complication of ticlopidine hydrochloride i important for the early diagnoi of thi poible drug-induced ide effect and the ceation of ticlopidine hydrochloride.
