Mizuo phenomenon oberved by canning laer ophthalmocopy in a patient with Oguchi dieae

PURPOE: To elucidate the origin of the abnormal fundu reflex in Oguchi dieae. METHOD: The ocular fundu of a 63-year-old woman who howed a homozygou arretin 1147delA mutation wa oberved by canning laer ophthalmocopy with the ue of an argon blue laer (wavelength, 488 nm), a helium-neon laer (633 nm), and an infrared laer (780 nm). REULT: Diffue, fine, white particle, which do not exit in normal ubject, were clearly demontrated only with the helium-neon laer. After 4-hour dark adaptation, the abnormal particle diappeared, but then they reappeared gradually during 30 minute of light adaptation, in accordance with the golden metallic reflex. CONCLUION: The white particle found by helium-neon laer could be the origin of the abnormal fundu reflex in Oguchi dieae.
