Needle apiration and endodiathermy treatment of epithelial incluion cyt of the iri

PURPOE: To report a cae of recurrent epithelial incluion cyt of the iri treated with needle apiration and endodiathermy. METHOD: Cae report. A 27-year-old man with a hitory of congenital cataract, congenital nytagmu, cataract urgery in each eye at 3 year of age, and a long-tanding iri epithelial cyt preented with decreaed viion of 20/400 in the better eeing left eye. The reduced viion wa diagnoed econdary to growth of the iri incluion cyt over the pupil. REULT: The iri cyt, which occluded the chamber angle and pupil, wa treated with apiration, eparation of the cyt wall from the cornea, and endodiathermy. Twelve month after cyt urgery, no evidence exited of epithelial cyt regrowth. The viual function wa ignificantly improved, although nellen viual acuity wa unchanged at 20/400. CONCLUION: The minimal invaivene of needle apiration and diathermy can reult in a atifactory outcome without undertaking more extenive and invaive urgical treatment for epithelial incluion cyt of the anterior chamber.
