Abstract
PURPOE: To report a cae of idiopathic macular hole, with vitreoretinal traction confirmed by optical coherence tomography that wa uccefully treated by a ingle intravitreou perfluoropropane (C3F8) ga bubble injection.
METHOD: Cae report. A 65-year-old patient with idiopathic macular hole (tage 2, one eye) received an intravitreou ga injection and wa propectively followed with optical coherence tomography.
REULT: A complete poterior vitreou detachment wa achieved within 6 week after ga injection. Viual acuity improved from 20/80 to 20/25 by 10 month of follow-up. Optical coherence tomography dicloed vitreoretinal traction releae and macular hole cloure. No complication were related to the procedure.
CONCLUION: Thi imple procedure can ait a complete poterior vitreou detachment with relief of the hyaloid-foveolar traction, facilitating macular hole cloure.
