Management of eyelid anomalie aociated with Blepharo-cheilo-dontic yndrome

PURPOE: To decribe the previouly unreported management of the eyelid anomalie aociated with blepharocheilo-dontic yndrome. Blepharo-cheilo-dontic yndrome i a yndrome of congenital cleft lip/palate, oligodontia, euryblepharon, eyelid ectropion, and lagophthalmo. METHOD: Cae report. A 3-month-old male preented with bilateral upper and lower eyelid ectropion with eyelid retraction, marked euryblepharon, evere lagophthalmo, and a right ide cleft lip/palate. Lateral taral trip, lower eyelid retractor diinertion, myocutaneou advancement of the cheek and eyelid, and lateral tarorrhaphy were performed. REULT: Correction of the ectropion, eyelid retraction, euryblepharon, and marked improvement in hi lagophthalmo were achieved potoperatively. No recurrence of the ectropion or euryblepharon ha been noted after 6 month of follow-up. CONCLUION: Appropriate recontructive urgery of the eyelid reduce the morbidity aociated with the eyelid anomalie and provide an excellent cometic reult for patient with blepharo-cheilo-dontic yndrome.
