  • Abstract
    PURPOE: To evaluate reported ocular ide effect aociated with iotretinoin uage. METHOD: One thouand even hundred forty-one cae report received from pontaneou reporting ytem, data from the Drug afety ection of Roche Pharmaceutical, and the world’ literature were evaluated uing the World Health Organization Cauality Aement Guide of upected Advere Reaction. REULT: Thirty-eight different ign or ymptom of ocular abnormalitie aociated with iotretinoin uage have been claified a “certain,” “probable/likely,” “poible,” “unlikely,” or “conditional/unclaifiable.” CONCLUION: Advere ocular ide effect econdary to iotretinoin that are “certain” include abnormal meibomian gland ecretion, blepharoconjunctiviti, corneal opacitie, decreaed dark adaptation, decreaed tolerance to contact len, decreaed viion, increaed tear omolarity, keratiti, meibomian gland atrophy, myopia, ocular dicomfort, ocular icca, photophobia, and teratogenic ocular abnormalitie.
