Accidental elf-removal of a flap—a rare complication of laer in itu keratomileui urgery

PURPOE: To report a rare complication in which the patient accidentally removed the laer in itu keratomileui corneal flap. METHOD: Interventional cae report. A 35-year-old woman underwent uncomplicated laer in itu keratomileui urgery. Ten day after urgery, he inerted a oft contact len into the right eye to improve her viion. he tried to remove the contact len, but had pain and bleeding. he wa referred 10 day later with a diagnoi of lo of flap. REULT: On examination, he had a bet-corrected viual acuity of 20/70 in the right eye. The right eye examination revealed no corneal flap, mild corneal edema, and ignificant haze. A central epithelial defect wa found. CONCLUION: Accidental corneal flap removal can rarely follow laer in itu keratomileui urgery. Thi complication provide inight into the weak adheion of the flap onto the tromal bed after laer in itu keratomileui urgery and, hence, the inherent rik of traumatic flap dilocation or amputation, which need to be explained to the patient.
