Gemella haemolyan keratiti and conecutive endophthalmiti

PURPOE: To report a cae of Gemella hemolyan keratiti with conecutive endophthalmiti. METHOD: Interventional cae report. A 47-year-old woman with a hitory of arcoidoi treated chronically with ytemic prednione developed bacterial keratiti and conecutive endophthalmiti in the left eye. REULT: Corneal, aqueou, and vitreou culture yielded G. hemolyan. Emergent keratoplaty, par plana vitrectomy, and injection of intravitreal antibiotic led to reolution of the infection and improved viion. Five month after urgery, the corneal graft ha remained clear ince ceation of antibiotic. CONCLUION: Thi i the firt report, to our knowledge, of ocular G. hemolyan infection, an uncommon gram-poitive pathogen often confued with viridan-type treptococci.
