Abstract
PURPOE: To report atypical choroidal neovacularization aociated with radiation retinopathy.
DEIGN: Cae report.
METHOD: The patient wa examined with ophthalmocopy, fluorecein angiography, and indocyanine green angiography.
REULT: A 32-year-old woman preented with an accelerated coure of radiation retinopathy with macular edema, capillary telangiectai, ubretinal fluid, and lipid during and after pregnancy. Indocyanine green, but not fluorecein angiography, demontrated an unuual area of choroidal neovacularization with prominent accular dilation adjacent to a large zone of poor choroidal perfuion. Laer photocoagulation of the choroidal neovacularization reulted in an angiographic cloure with aborption of the ubretinal fluid and improvement of viual acuity.
CONCLUION: Choroidal neovacularization may be aociated with radiation retinopathy and, when preent, may require indocyanine green angiography for it diagnoi.
