Abstract
Purpoe
We decribe a cae demontrating a ubmacular depoition of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) after a TA-aited vitrectomy for retinal detachment.
Deign
Interventional cae report.
Method
A 48-year-old Japanee man with rhegmatogenou retinal detachment in hi left eye underwent a TA-aited vitrectomy, endolaer photocoagulation, and ulfur hexafluoride (F6) ga tamponade.
Reult
At the end of the urgery and the day after undergoing vitrectomy, the depoition of TA wa oberved between the retinal pigment epithelium and neuroenory retina in the ubmacular area. Thee TA granule diappeared after 2 week. Two month after the operation, the retina wa oberved to be uccefully attached and no abnormality wa oberved in the macula. The patient’ viual acuity improved to 20/16, and no ophthalmocopic or functional damage wa oberved.
Concluion
No apparent advere effect wa found in thi cae demontrating a ubmacular depoition of TA.
