Accuracy of intraocular preure by Tono-Pen XL over amniotic membrane patching in rabbit

Purpoe To report an accuracy of intraocular preure (IOP) by Tono-Pen XL over amniotic membrane patching in rabbit. Deign Experimental tudy. Method even male albino rabbit were ued in thi tudy. After general anetheia, IOP wa meaured in both eye uing the Tono-Pen without amniotic membrane. A ingle layer amniotic membrane wa then immediately placed over the rabbit eye, and the IOP meaurement wa repeated. Reult The average IOP without amniotic membrane wa 5.8 ± 0.6 mm Hg (mean ± D). The average IOP through amniotic membrane wa 6.0 ± 0.4 mm Hg (mean ± D). There wa no tatitical difference in IOP meaured on cornea with or without the amniotic membrane (P = .34). Concluion The accuracy of IOP meaurement by Tono-Pen XL over a ingle layer of amniotic membrane patching wa demontrated uing rabbit eye. Further tudie in human eye may verify our finding in actual clinical etting.
