Leber congenital amauroi aociated with optic dik neovacularization and vitreou hemorrhage

Purpoe To report an unuual cae of optic dik neovacularization and vitreou hemorrhage aociated with Leber congenital amauroi (LCA). Deign Interventional cae report. Method A 16-year-old Caucaian girl with a hitory of LCA preented with decreaed viion in her left eye, diffue retinal pigmentary abnormalitie characteritic of LCA, and hemorrhage over the left optic dik and macula. ix month of follow-up revealed optic dik neovacularization. A mall amount of neovacularization wa noted in the right eye at 6 month. Reult An extenive ytemic evaluation indicated no other caue for the neovacularization. Panretinal photocoagulation wa performed in both eye, and ubequently the neovacularization regreed. Concluion Leber congenital amauroi like retiniti pigmentoa, can rarely be aociated with neovacularization of the dik, which i amenable to treatment with peripheral photocoagulation if it doe not pontaneouly regre.
