  • Abstract
Purpoe To evaluate the viual and angiographic effect a well a optical coherence tomography finding after a new technique of ingrowth ite treatment of ubfoveal choroidal neovacularization (CNV) econdary to pathologic myopia with the ue of indocyanine green (ICG)-mediated photothromboi. Deign Interventional, noncomparative cae erie. Method In the etting of a tertiary referral center, patient with pathologic myopia in whom fluorecein and conventional ICG angiography demontrated ditinct CNV veel upplying the ubfoveal neovacular complex were ubmitted to focal ingrowth ite treatment uing a new therapeutic modality termed ICG-mediated photothromboi. Propective evaluation including viual acuity aement, fluorecein and ICG angiography, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) evaluation wa performed at week 1, 12, 24, and 48 after treatment. Reult ix conecutive patient (ix eye) had treatment uing a ingle eion of ICG-mediated photothromboi at the CNV ingrowth ite. Obliteration of the entire neovacular complex wa achieved immediately after treatment in all patient. At lat follow-up, viual acuity improvement of 1 or more Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy tudy line wa oberved in five of ix patient, and fluorecein angiography howed an abence (four eye) or minimal leakage (two eye) from CNV. Indocyanine green angiography demontrated elective obliteration of the neovacular complex. Accordingly, reduction of retinal edema wa oberved in the OCT evaluation in all patient. There wa no ignificant complication related to the procedure. Concluion The ue of lower irradiance of 810- nm continuou light application and intravenou ICG infuion for neovacular ingrowth ite photothromboi induced elective CNV hypoperfuion, a demontrated by fluorecein and ICG angiography in patient with pathologic myopia. Thee finding were either conitent with the viual acuity improvement oberved in five of ix patient or with the partial retoration of the retinal architecture een in OCT evaluation 12 month after treatment
