Cataract after minor trauma in a young patient with an iri-fixated intraocular len for high myopia

Purpoe To report a cae of traumatic cataract in a young patient with an iri-fixated phakic intraocular len (PIOL). Deign Interventional cae report. Method A 32-year-old woman with bilateral iri-fixated PIOL for high myopia preented with a cortical cataract 2 week after minor ocular trauma. Ultraound biomicrocopy and endothelial cell count were performed before and after cataract urgery. Reult The ditance between the PIOL and the crytalline len wa 0.82 mm; the ditance between the PIOL and the corneal endothelium wa 2.30 mm. Endothelial cell count wa 2,500 cell/mm2 before urgery and 2,476 cell/mm2 at 1 year follow-up. Concluion Patient with iri-fixated PIOL are at rik of rapid cataract progreion after minor ocular traumatim.
