Abstract
Purpoe
To analyze effect of the compoition and the color of intraocular lene (IOL) on laer wavelength.
Deign
A cae control tudy.
Method
Laer light ray at wavelength ranging from 0.1 to 0.5 W were directed at a polymethymethacrylate ocular model fitted conecutively with three type of IOL at variou refractive power. A laer detector wa placed on the model beneath the lene. The laer beam wa paed through the IOL and the output meaured by a enor. Attenuation rate wa calculated.
Reult
The colored IOL caued ignificantly more attenuation than did the noncolored IOL (p < .01). A 30-diopter colored IOL howed an attenuation rate of up to 15% at a wavelength of 488 + 514 nm.
Concluion
Conideration of the wavelength and the output of a laer for a particular IOL i required when laer photocoagulation of the retina i performed in patient with peudophakia.
