To report a cae initially aeed a giant papillary conjunctiviti and ubequently a B-cell lymphoma by the molecular technique of polymerae chain reaction heteroduplex analyi. Reult A 32-year-old man developed unilateral blepharoptoi econdary to an extenive palpebral conjunctival follicular-like proce. Exciional biopy howed a dene mall lymphocyte infiltrate conitent with benign lymphoid hyperplaia by hitology and immunohitologic marker tudie. Polymerae chain reaction heteroduplex analyi revealed low-grade B-cell lymphoma, however. ytemic examination wa negative. Focal radiation therapy wa performed, and preliminary reult how no ign of lymphoma. Concluion Polymerae chain reaction heteroduplex analyi etablihed a diagnoi of conjunctival B-cell lymphoma in the abence of upporting hitology and immunohitochemitry tudie. Thi technique may provide independent, diagnotic ditinction between benign lymphoid hyperplaia and low-grade B-cell lymphoma of the ocular adnexa.
