Abstract
Purpoe
To report a cae of benign intracranial hypertenion related to mealazine ue.
Deign
: Obervational cae report.
Method
A 23-year-old-woman with udden viual lo, headache, and a hitory of ulcerative coliti treated with mealazine underwent ophthalmologic examination, echography, magnetic reonance imaging, and lumbar puncture.
Reult
The examination dicloed benign intracranial hypertenion that reolved when mealazine wa dicontinued and recurred when the drug wa retarted.
Concluion
We recommend periodic ocular fundu examination for patient undergoing long-term therapy with mealazine, epecially if decreaed viion, headache, or neck tiffne are preent, to avoid potentially evere complication of intracranial hypertenion
