Prevalence of ciliochoroidal effuion after prophylactic laer iridotomy

Purpoe To tudy the prevalence of ciliochoroidal effuion (CE) after prophylactic laer iridotomy (LI). Method An ultraound biomicrocope (UBM) examination wa performed before, 2, and 24 hour after LI to invetigate the change in upraciliary-choroidal pace after LI in circumference of 38 eye in 23 chronic primary angle-cloure patient. ubject were divided randomly into two group baed on LI etting: 21 eye by argon laer (Ar-LI group) and argon combined with yttrium-aluminum-garnet (YAG) laer in 17 eye (Ar-YAG-LI group). Reult Ciliochoroidal effuion wa oberved predominantly in the inferior ector (12 of 12 eye, 100%) and rare in naal part of the eye (4 of 12 eye, 33%). Ciliochoroidal effuion appeared more often in the Ar-LI group (10 eye, 52%) than in the Ar-YAG-LI group (2 eye, 12%). All CE diappeared 7 day after by UBM obervation. Concluion ubclinical CE oberved by UBM frequently occur after LI.
