Abstract
Purpoe
To report oculogyric crii in patient receiving cetirizine and inform clinician on the characteritic of thi drug-induced ocular ide effect.
Method
For thi retropective, obervational cae erie, cae report were collected from the National Regitry of Drug-Induced Ocular ide Effect (Caey Eye Intitute, Portland, Oregon). The World Health Organization Cauality Aement Guide of upected Advere Reaction wa ued to categorize the cae.
Reult
Nine cae were reported, with eight occurring in the pediatric age group. Doage ranged from 5 to 10 mg orally and onet of ymptom ranged from 3 to 184 day. ix cae of oculogyric crii had poitive rechallenge data. Eight cae had complete neurologic conultation including radiographic tudie.
Concluion
Cetirizine can caue oculogyric crii, epecially in the pediatric age group. Extenive neurologic workup may be avoided if clinician recognize thi drug-induced ocular ide effect.
