Poitive angle kappa: a ign of albinim in patient with congenital nytagmu

Purpoe To determine whether the aociation of poitive angle kappa and congenital nytagmu i a ditinguihing feature of albinim. Deign Obervational cae erie. Method Propective examination of the location of the corneal light reflex in patient with albinim and idiopathic congenital nytagmu. Reult A poitive angle kappa in at leat one eye wa noted in 20/21 (95%) patient with albinim veru 4/12 (33%) patient with congenital nytagmu (P = .0003, Fiher exact tet). A poitive angle kappa in both eye wa noted in 15/21 (71.4%) patient with albinim veru 2/12 (16.6%) patient with idiopathic congenital nytagmu (P = .0039, Fiher exact tet). Concluion A poitive angle kappa in patient with congenital nytagmu i aociated with albinim. The pathophyiology of the poitive angle kappa may relate to the anomalou decuation of optic axon that characterize the albinotic viual ytem.
