Panophthalmiti due to clotridium epticum

Purpoe To decribe patient urvival in a rare cae of endogenou Clotridium epticum epi with panophthalmiti. Deign Obervational cae report. Method Both eye of a female patient were examined in a hopital etting. Reult A 68-year-old woman had right orbital pain, proptoi, panophthalmiti, mental confuion and fever for 2 day. Blood culture were ignificant for Clotridium epticum. The patient did not improve after treatment with intravenou broad-pectrum antibiotic and the right eye wa enucleated. The patient urvived the acute infection and extenive ytemic evaluation revealed an undiagnoed colon carcinoma that may have been reponible for colonization and vacular diemination of Clotridium epticum. Concluion Clotridium epticum panophthalmiti and epi can be the preenting ign in patient with unupected malignancie, particularly colon cancer. Patient can urvive the infection with aggreive therapy with ytemic antibiotic combined with removal of the infected tiue.
