Purpoe To evaluate the efficacy of adjunctive ubconjunctival antibiotic injection in the treatment of acute potcataract extraction endophthalmiti. Deign Retropective cohort tudy. Method Patient who preented with hand motion or better viion and received ubconjunctival antibiotic (C+ group) were compared with thoe who did not (C− group) in the treatment of acute potoperative endophthalmiti. Reult The rate of obtaining a final viion of 20/40 or better wa 60% in the C+ group (n = 25) compared with 72% in the C− group (n = 18) (P = .69), and the mean change in logMAR wa –1.36 (improvement) veru –1.34 (P = .93). Baed on a linear regreion model controlling for preenting viion, there wa no tatitical difference in the mean logMAR change between the two group (P = .73). Concluion ubconjunctival antibiotic injection a an adjunct to intravitreal antibiotic wa unaociated with treatment benefit in patient with acute potoperative endophthalmiti preenting with viion of hand motion or better.
