Extraction of endocapular tenion ring after phacoemulification in eye with peudoexfoliation

Purpoe To decribe an eay and effective urgical technique for removing the endocapular tenion ring (CTR) after phacoemulification. Deign New urgical technique. Method One 10-0 polypropylene uture needle i paed through the hole at one end of the CTR. Then, the CTR i introduced into the capular bag before phacoemulification. If the poterior capule rupture, the CTR can be removed by pulling the uture toward the corneal inciion and rotating the CTR to remove it. Reult We performed thi technique in 23 cae with a rik of zonular damage and did not encounter complication at any point in the procedure. Concluion We recommend thi procedure in eye with rik of zonular dialyi and poterior capule rupture, epecially in advanced peudoexfoliative cataract or if the urgeon ha limited experience with thee cae.
