Abstract
Melanoma are notoriouly difficult to claify becaue of a lack of dicrete clinical and pathological tage. In thi tudy, primary uveal melanoma were hown to cluter into two ditinct molecular clae baed on gene expreion profile. Gene that dicriminate cla 1 (low-grade) from cla 2 (high-grade) include highly ignificant cluter of down-regulated gene on chromoome 3 and up-regulated gene on chromoome 8q, which in conitent with previou cytogenetic tudie. A three-gene ignature allow biopy-ize tumor ample to be aigned accurately to tumor clae uing either array or PCR platform. Mot importantly, thi molecular claification trongly predict metatatic death and outperform other clinical and pathological prognotic indicator. Thee tudie offer new inight into melanoma pathogenei and provide a practical foundation for effective
