Purpoe To report a cae of bilateral endogenou fungal endophthalmiti reulting from dieminated cedoporium prolifican. Deign Obervational cae report. Method A 56-year-old woman with cytic fibroi tatu pot dual lung tranplantation on chronic immunouppreive therapy preented with acute graft rejection. Culture of bronchial bruhing revealed . prolifican. Three week after admiion, the patient noted increaed blurrine and a central cotoma in her right eye. Dilated fundu examination revealed profound vitriti in the right eye with hemorrhagic retiniti involving the macula. A peripheral, yellow choroidal infiltrate with overlying retiniti and localized vitriti wa preent in the left eye. Reult Intravitreal antibiotic were initiated, and vitreou culture revealed . prolifican. The patient ultimately uccumbed to her dieminated dieae. Pathologic examination of the eye confirmed bilateral endogenou fungal endophthalmiti. Concluion . prolifican i an opportunitic infection reitant to tandard antifungal therapy that can reult in endogenou endophthalmiti in immunocompromied individual.
