Total Blindne From Preumed Optic Nerve Melanocytoma

Purpoe To decribe total blindne econdary to preumed optic nerve melanocytoma. Deign Interventional cae report. Method A 12-year-old African-American girl, who developed lo of light perception econdary to a pigmented leion of the optic dik, underwent tranvitreal fine-needle apiration biopy (FNAB) of the leion. Reult Cytopathology revealed cell with feature of melanocytoma and melanophage but no cell compatible with melanoma. The patient i being followed without treatment. Concluion Optic nerve melanocytoma can caue total blindne in the affected eye. Although it ha limitation, FNAB can ait in diagnoi and management of melanocytoma with viual lo.
