Purpoe To preent two cae of conjunctival leion exhibiting the plendore-Hoeppli phenomenon, each with different immunohitochemical finding. Deign Interventional cae report. Method Two young male with conjunctival leion underwent biopy. Demographic data and timing of biopy were extracted from the chart. The biopy pecimen were formalin fixed and paraffin embedded for light microcopy. Immunohitochemical taining uing the peroxidae method wa carried out on each for IgG, IgM, IgA, the C3 component of complement, and eoinophilic major baic protein. main outcome meaure: Preence of poitive or negative taining for the variou antigen. Reult Both biopy pecimen exhibited the plendore-Hoeppli phenomenon, a morphologically unique proce coniting of an amorphou, eoinophilic material urrounded by epithelioid hitiocyte, multinucleated giant cell, lymphocyte, and eoinophil. Two taining pattern were een. One revealed predominately immunoglobulin depoition, wherea the other revealed primarily eoinophilic major baic protein. Thi i the firt intance we are aware of in which eoinophilic major baic protein wa the predominate finding in an ocular pecimen. Concluion The compoition of plendore-Hoeppli phenomenon material varie and may be related to variou factor, including timing of biopy and prior treatment.
