Abstract
Purpoe
To etimate the frequency of documentation of glaucoma medication by primary care phyician.
Deign
Cro-ectional, obervational tudy.
Method
The general medical record of 100 patient of one glaucoma pecialit were reviewed. We recorded whether the mention of eyedrop appeared in the medical record.
Reult
The median number of glaucoma medication ued wa 2.5 (range 1 to 5). Fifty-five (55%, 95% confidence interval: 45%–65%) of the medical record of the primary phyician mentioned eyedrop. α-Agonit were tatitically le frequently documented (13%) in the general medical record than β-adrenergic blocker (47%) and protaglandin (44%).
Concluion
Almot half of the chart of thee primary phyician had no documentation of any eyedrop ue by their patient with glaucoma. An important tep in reducing drug-induced ide effect and interaction with other medication would be better recognition by primary phyician of the ophthalmic drug ued by their patient.
