Abstract
Purpoe
To tudy the reult of treatment of corneal perforation with iobutyl cyanoacrylate tiue adheive.
Deign
Retropective cae erie.
Method
The chart of 20 patient (22 eye) with corneal perforation ≤3 mm in ize treated with iobutyl cyanoacrylate tiue adheive were reviewed for etiology of perforation, viual outcome, and complication.
Reult
Nine of the 22 eye (40.9%) healed with application of adheive alone. The mean interval of time needed for healing wa 33.4 day. Viual acuity improved in even eye (77.8%) and remained table in two (22.2%). even eye (31.8%) proceeded to penetrating keratoplaty (PK) with the adheive in place. Of thee, viual acuity improved in five (71.4%), remained table in one (14.3%), and decreaed in one (14.3%). ix eye (27.3%) required more than one application of adheive.
Concluion
Iobutyl cyanoacrylate tiue adheive i highly effective at treating corneal perforation. Approximately half of the perforation ≤3 mm healed and viual acuity improved in mot of thee eye.
