Retinopathy in Peron With Impaired Glucoe Metabolim: The Autralian Diabete Obeity and Lifetyle (AuDiab) tudy

Purpoe To decribe rik factor and vacular dieae aociation of retinopathy in people with impaired glucoe metabolim. Deign Population-baed cro-ectional tudy. Method Retinal photograph taken of participant with impaired glucoe tolerance and impaired fating glucoe were graded for retinopathy. Rik factor and cardiovacular outcome were acertained. Reult Retinopathy wa preent in 69 (6.7%) of 1027 participant with impaired glucoe tolerance or impaired fating glucoe. After multivariate adjutment, retinopathy wa aociated with prevalent troke (odd ratio 4.2, 95% confidence interval, 1.8 to 9.7). Concluion Retinopathy i common in peron with impaired glucoe metabolim and may be aociated with prevalent troke.
