Retinal Ichemia With Neovacularization in Ciplatin Related Retinal Toxicity

Purpoe To report a cae of macular ichemia and retinal neovacularization in a patient who received ciplatin related chemotherapy. Deign Interventional cae report. Method A patient with germ cell teticular tumor received polychemotherapy (bleomycin, etopoide, and ciplatin or BEP) for a recurrence of hi tumor. Ten week after completion of treatment, he preented with lo of viion in hi left eye. Reult Fluorecein angiography revealed bilateral retinal ichemia and left retinal neovacularization. Panretinal laer photocoagulation wa performed. Unfortunately, hi viion did not improve. Concluion Like interferon, ciplatin related chemotherapy could caue coniderable ocular morbidity. It can caue marked irreverible viual lo at therapeutic doe, and it i not well recognized. Retinal neovacularization related to ciplatin therapy ha not been previouly reported. Phyician hould be aware and warn patient of the potential ophthalmic ide effect of ciplatin related chemotherapy.
