Identification of Retained Nucleu Fragment in the Poterior Chamber Uing Ultraound Biomicrocopy

Purpoe To decribe the ue of ultraound biomicrocopy (UBM) to image retained nuclear fragment poterior to the iri plane after uncomplicated phacoemulification with poterior chamber intraocular len (PCIOL) implantation in two patient. Deign Interventional cae report. Method Two patient preented with an iri elevation after uncomplicated phacoemulification and len implantation. Reult Viual acuity wa 20/20 in the firt patient and 20/30 in the econd. There wa no anterior chamber inflammation in either eye. UBM revealed a mall, retained nuclear fragment between the iri pigment epithelium and the anterior len capule, cauing localized anterior iri diplacement in both patient. The PCIOL wa within the capular bag, and the iri root and ciliary body were normal in both patient. Concluion UBM can demontrate retained len fragment within the poterior chamber.
