Abstract
Purpoe
To invetigate the global cytokine and chemokine expreion pattern in the aqueou humor of uveiti patient and relate them to clinical feature.
Deign
Cro-ectional tudy.
Method
In 31 aqueou humor ample from uveiti patient, the concentration of mediator wa meaured by a multiplex immunoaay. Eleven control ample were included.
Reult
Uveiti ample had higher level of interleukin-6, interleukin-8, oluble intercellular adheion molecule, oluble vacular cell adheion molecule (VCAM), and interferon-inducible protein-10 (IP-10) than nonuveiti control. Active uveiti ample had higher level of interleukin-6, interleukin-10, interferon-γ, VCAM, regulated on activation, normal T cell expreed and ecreted (RANTE), and IP-10 than quiecent uveiti ample. Infectiou uveiti wa aociated with higher level of interleukin-10 than noninfectiou uveiti (P < .03 for all ubgroup). No ignificant difference were found between cytoid macular edema (CME) and non-CME ample.
Concluion
Elevated level of pecific mediator were found in active and in infectiou uveiti, but not in CME. Mediator profile might lead to a better undertanding of the pathogenei of uveiti
