Abstract
Purpoe
To report the effect of angiotenin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor on viual field change in normal-tenion glaucoma (NTG).
Deign
Retropective obervational cae erie.
Method
We retropectively reviewed a total of 38 patient with NTG. Control ubject had no previou hitory of hypertenion. NTG hypertenion patient were divided into two group, thoe receiving ACE inhibitor and thoe receiving other antihypertenive drug treatment. HfaFile 5, an analytical program for the Humphrey Field Analyzer, wa ued to calculate the lope for the mean deviation (MD) change per year.
Reult
In the ACE inhibitor-treated group, the mean MD change per year wa 0.48 ± 0.19 dB, in control ubject wa −0.38 ± 0.23 dB, and in the other antihypertenive drug-treated group wa −0.50 ± 0.39 dB.
Concluion
Although the preent tudy i retropective and the ample ize i mall, ACE inhibitor might have a favorable effect on the viual field in patient with NTG in thi mall tudy.
