Purpoe To determine if topical gel i uperior to ubconjunctival injection of lidocaine in relieving pain of intravitreou injection of corticoteroid. Deign Randomized clinical trial. Method patient population: One hundred patient receiving intravitreou injection of triamcinolone. interventional procedure: Topical lidocaine 2% gel and ubconjunctival lidocaine 2% injection. outcome meaure: Analog pain core aement, conducted by technician maked to treatment. Reult There wa no tatitically ignificant difference in pain core between the treatment group (P = .1). Concluion The effective relief of pain with lidocaine for intravitreou injection i independent of it mode of application (gel v ubconjunctival injection).
