Abstract
Purpoe
To decribe optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fluorecein angiography (FA) parameter at baeline examination of 80 ubject (160 eye) in a longitudinal cohort tudy of birdhot chorioretinopathy and to compare thee parameter with meaure of viual function and clinical finding.
Deign
ingle-center cro-ectional tudy.
Method
Comparion were made between OCT and FA parameter. The exitence of relationhip wa examined between three OCT parameter (macular thickne, tatu of the third highly reflective band [HRB], epiretinal membrane) and the following factor: bet-corrected viual acuity (BCVA), ymptom, color confuion core (CC), vitreou haze, retinal vaculiti, and birdhot leion characteritic. Grade of vacular leakage by FA wa compared with the ame factor.
Reult
There wa not good agreement between macular edema identified by OCT v FA (κ, 0.37). On multivariate analye, decreaed BCVA wa related to abnormal macular thickne (P < .001), lo of the third HRB (P < .001), and vacular leakage (P = .034). When compared with macular parameter, ymptom were related mot cloely to lo of the third HRB. There were no trong relationhip between birdhot leion characteritic and macular parameter.
Concluion
Macular change are reflected in reduced BCVA and may provide inight into mechanim of ome viual ymptom. Lo of the third HRB wa the parameter mot commonly related to other dieae factor. Birdhot chorioretinopathy can reult in macular thinning with central viion lo. FA and OCT each may be ueful tet for the evaluation of the macula in patient with birdhot chorioretinopathy.
