A Panel Aement of Glaucoma Management: Modification of Exiting RAND-like Methodology for Conenu in Ophthalmology. Part I: Methodology and Deign Original Reearch Article

Purpoe To examine way to improve exiting methodology to reach appropriate conenu in the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma. Deign Evidence-baed literature and accumulated expert opinion. Method A core nonvoting teering committee compoed of four individual created 148 tatement. Another nonvoting individual with expertie in clinical epidemiology reviewed all evidence in upport of or againt each tatement and ummarized thi information. After review of thee ummarie, 10 panelit voted on each of the tatement both before and after a panel meeting where each quetion wa dicued by the panel. The polling wa conducted online uing a cutomized oftware program for the proce. Reult Conenu wa reached on mot tatement both before and after the panel meeting. The proportion of quetion where conenu agreement or diagreement wa reached increaed from 82 of 148 before the panel meeting to 110 of 148 after the meeting.
