Abstract
Methanolic extracts of twenty wild edible fruits grown in Manipur, India were evaluated for their radical scavenging activity using DPPH assays. Out of twenty fruits screened, thirteen fruits are most effective, five fruit extracts give moderate antioxidant activities and remaining two fruit extracts showed remarkable lower amount of radical scavenging compounds. Aphanamixis polystachya, one of the rare, threatened; under utilized wild fruit of Manipur give the highest antioxidant activity in the present investigation. The IC50 (p,g/ml) of the fruit extracts are calculated by using Linear Regression Analysis.
