  • Abstract
The internet is the one of the greatest revolutionary innovation of the twentieth century. It made the ‘global village utopia’ a reality ina rather short span of time and the ways that computers communicate have, in many cases, changed dramatically. The core problem, the 32-bitaddress space that is too small for the current and future size of the Internet, can only be addressed by moving to a larger address space. To speedup the transition IPV4 compatible IPV6 addressing scheme has been worked out. This was the primary motivating factor in creating the nextversion of the Internet Protocol, IPv6. IPv6 is destined to be the future of the Internet Protocol, and due to IPʹs critical importance, it will formthe basis for the future of TCP/IP and the Internet as well. ICMPv6 can provide new version of ICMP - additional message types, e.g. “PacketToo Big” and multicast group management functions and Support for security ,Support for mobility and a real IPv6 inter-network has beenused for testing for a number of years as well. This paper describes the quality of services keeping features of IPV6. Many vendors are now writing softwares for various computing environments to support IPV6 functionality
