Abstract
Video Still Abstract: The Karaj-Chaloos road, perpendicular to the Alborz mountain range in Iran, has a high mountainous coefficient so that each year mass movements cause some damage in this mountain. The purpose of this study is to predict the hazard of mass movements in Karaj-Chaloos road, from Karaj dam to Kandovan Bridge through HS Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Fuzzy methods. Initially, by reviewing research sources related to the subject, some important influential factors are prepared and digitized as independent variables in the environment of geographical information systems. The distribution layer of mass movements is also prepared as a dependent variable by interpreting aerial photographs and field operations and using GPS. At the next stage, the hazard zonation map of mass movements with different sensitivities is prepared through AHP and Fuzzy methods. Obtained results show that the area of study is highly exposed to mass movements with high sensitivity.
