Abstract
Regarding the effects of the harvesting stage on the amount of phenolic content and antioxidant activity of medicinal herbs Satureja hortensis, Origanum majorana, Salvia virgata, Melissa officinalis and Hyssopus officinalis an experiment has been tested three S.D in form of randomized complete block design.Five medicinal plants from the family of Lamiaceae were chosen and tested for presence of antioxidant, phenolic compounds and the anti microorganism activities. Our results showed that, the highest antioxidant activity was achieved in Hyssopus officinalis before the flowering stage, while the highest total phenolic contents was achieved in Salvia officinalis after the flowering stage and we didn’t observe any significant differences due expression of antioxidants or total phenol contents or even antimicrobial activity from the chosen plants at the chosen stages.
