  • Abstract
The effects of preliminary-plant which sunflower and peanut (Arachis hypogaea ) on some soil properties, crop yield and some quality factors such as protein, starch, ash of bread wheat (Triticum sp.) were researched in Mediterranean Region. Yield, 1000 kernel weight, plant in m2, protein, starch, ash, oil and gluten contents of grain samples were described in this study. First year, sunflower and peanut (Arachis hypogaea) were planted in two different experimental plots. Second year, wheat plants ( Adana-99 and Ceyhan-99 varieties) were planted on these two different experimental plots. The crop yield experiment plots of Adana–99 variety of which preliminary-plant is peanut ranged from 3221 to 5290 kg ha-1. The crop yield experiment plots of Adana–99 variety of which preliminary-plant is sunflower ranged from 4317 to 5540 kg ha-1. Also crop yield of experiment plots of Ceyhan–99 variety of which preliminary-plant is peanut ranged from 3472 to 4605 kg ha-1. The crop yield of experiment plots of Ceyhan–99 variety of which preliminary-plant is sunflower ranged from 4593 to 5976 kg ha-1. The highest yield was obtained at control parcel of Ceyhan-99 variety variety of which preliminary-plant is sunflower as 5976 kg ha-1. It is shown that sunflower significantly increased wheat crop yield for each wheat varieties (Adana-99 and Ceyhan-99). The effect of Adana-99 and Ceyhan-99 variety which preliminary-plant is sunflower on yield found to be statistically important at 0.01 levels. But preliminary-plant has not effect 1000 kernel weight, plant m-2, protein, starch and ash contents of grain were found as statistically insignificant for each two varieties.
